Fruit seasons of various forms turn my mind to chutney. Or, expressed more appropriately, when peaches come in, I begin to think "peach chutney" and when pears started appearing and I heard the phrase "pear chutney" I thought -- yes, let's make some. What a great idea, I thought. I will just look for a recipe to use up some of the way-way-too-much-crystallized ginger I bought earlier this summer into fall. And so, I stole the idea "what about pear chutney?" from the person who actually inspired Cooking with Ideas and have been making pear chutney.
